The cape is a fun touch, but honestly the plastic feels sturdy and the whole thing just shrugs off boiling water without warping. I've tossed it in the dishwasher every night for a week and it looks brand new. Flipping pancakes feels way more heroic than it should.
The magnetic tip actually holds onto the pan handle so well that I can flip eggs with one hand while holding my coffee in the other, and it's survived a full dishwasher cycle without warping. My kids think it's hilarious that a spatula has a cape, so they actually want to help cook now.
